Steve has been passionate about photography since childhood. He grew up in St Ives Cornwall, where he, like many before, was inspired to capture the dramatic seascapes and rugged beauty of Penwith on film; at first using his dad’s camera and then with his own after buying his first SLR at the tender age of 13

.

He later went on to gain a BA (Hons) from Newport School of Art, Media and Design where he continued to hone his photographic skills in the context of graphic design. He ran his own freelance design business throughout the 90’s, before going on to work for some of Europe’s most acclaimed design and communications consultancies, in London.

In 2006, his lifelong passion for photography mixed with a love of the coast led Steve away from the "Big Smoke" of London to the big skies of East Anglia, where he set up Coastal Studios and subsequently, Coastal Brides.
